Hello!

I’m Rachel’s Beautiful Mess. I am a Surface Pattern Designer, cheer bringer and maker of all things whimsical and bright! I am also ‘Mom’ (Wow upside down!) of 3 Amazing Neurodivergent Kiddos. My art reflects my optimistic outlook on life even though Adulting is Damn hard!!

Life is made up of all our messy moments, good & bad. My art endeavours to embody the imperfect beauty of life with a nonetheless Optimistic view. I create Art with positive, uplifting messages to encourage and celebrate life's small wins, and not ‘yets’ but somedays.

You will often find Blueberries, flora and fauna and animals inspired by the unique Biosphere of the Georgian Bay area. Rachel spent her summers exploring the Islands and waters of Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada.

Rachel grew up surrounded by friends and family and the Magical True North. Heavily inspired by the natural world and humanity's vast beauty!

Ever since I can remember I have been intrigued with the fact that my brain + hands + paints or pencil can make something that has never existed before!!! A new image exists because I was brave enough to try to make it. Art with paints is a messy, brave endeavour… as I have come to understand, so is Parenting. Full of happy accidents and no undo button.

I have had a wonderful 15 year career Illustrating for Hatley (Canadian apparel company), creating 1000’s of whimsical repeat patterns and graphics in both digital and traditional mediums.
